12 December 2004

Dear Sir,

Please refer to a letter I received from one of your predecessors, Dr. R.W.J. Keay, dated 17 August 1984. He advises me to send my report supporting the experiments that were carried out by a former President of The Royal Society, Sir William Crookes, to the Society for Psychical Research.

At this time I ran into a brick wall in the shape of a "parapsychologist", Dr. John Beloff. He called me "plum crazy" for following Crookes and Sir Oliver Lodge FRS - linking the study of survival after death with the scientific discipline of subatomic physics.

Thankfully attitudes have now changed among the hierarchy of the SPR and my enclosed paper "A Rational Scientific Explanation For So-Called Psychic Phenomena" has now been published. I submit that the discovery of people operating in the invisible part of the universe is far more important and exciting than trying to locate people on other planets in our galaxy as featured on the new Channel 4 science series "What We Still Don't Know" 5 December 2004.

I feel it's now time to abandon your 17th century pact with the Vatican - "not to meddle in divinity and metaphysics".

Yours faithfully

Michael Roll
