A balance in SPR publications

Dear Ray,

There will be no need to close down the Society for Psychical Research if the committee proves that they do not have a "corporate opinion" of censorship.

All we are demanding is a balance in all SPR publications. The Editor of the Journal of the SPR, Dr. John Beloff, has started from the base that we do not survive death. This is fair enough but only if he is prepared to give a balance and publish papers from others who present the experimental case for survival after death backed up with a mathematical theory.

This biased approach is exposed in Dr. Beloff's book 'Parapsychology: a Concise History'. I quote just two passages:

"Survival research can no longer be considered part of the cutting edge of parapsychology"

and

"All possible mediumistic phenomena can be more economically explained, without hypothesising a surviving immaterial spirit, by appealing to the supposed psi (ESP & PK) power of the medium."

The criticism of the SPR will only cease when this balance is achieved. The secular scientific approach to survival after death is to be found on my web site www.cfpf.org.uk.

Most of this has already been sent to the Secretary of the SPR and not even anknowledged, apart from a letter from Prof. Bernard Carr officially rejecting my paper that I had prepared for the International Conference in 1999. This tells how "dead" people have been physically reunited with their loved ones on Earth using repeatable experiments. Also it is vital that the SPR publishes Ronald Pearson's mathematical back up for mediumship that has been peer-refereed and published by physicists in Russia and the USA.

Why not start with publishing Sir Oliver Lodge's article that was published in The Queen's Hospital Annual in 1933 'The Mode of Future Existence' making it clear that survival is a branch of physics not parapsychology.

Yours sincerely

Michael Roll
